2021 Jeep Gladiator EcoDiesel Engine Specs

The 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V-6 engine is the first diesel engine that’s ever been offered for a Gladiator model. Jeep is building it after receiving a very high level of interest from customers. The output of the EcoDiesel engine is 260 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque. The engine is quite sophisticated, with lightweight aluminum alloy pistons, a forged steel crankshaft, high-pressure direct-injection fuel injector nozzles, an exhaust gas recirculation system, and a Turbo Charge Air Cooler.

The EcoDiesel engine in the Gladiator also has a start-stop system. This temporarily shuts off the EcoDiesel engine when the Gladiator is idling, helping to improve fuel economy while driving in stop-and-start city traffic. Efficiency is further aided by a gas recirculation system, which reduces turbocharger energy losses from the engine. The engineers at Jeep also designed the EcoDiesel engine to minimize noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) for a quiet ride inside the cabin. Handling the high torque output of the EcoDiesel engine is the TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission, which is specially calibrated to handle both on-road and off-road use, as well as low RPM shifts.

When will the 2021 Jeep Gladiator EcoDiesel be released?

The 2021 Jeep Gladiator EcoDiesel will be released sometime during the third quarter of 2020. If you’re from Trinidad or elsewhere in Southern Colorado and would like to enjoy the impressive power output of the 2021 Gladiator EcoDiesel, then don’t hesitate to contact us at Cooke Motor Company!
